Code of Conduct
To ensure an appropriate and supportive atmosphere for the youth participants in DTC programs and activities, the organization has adopted a zero-tolerance policy in the enforcement of the Parent’s Code of Conduct.
• I and my guests will remember that children participate to have fun and that the game is for them, not for the adults.
• I and my guests will be positive role models for my child and encourage good sportsmanship by showing respect, courtesy, and support for all players, coaches, officials, and spectators at all times.
• I and my guests will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct such as booing, taunting, using profane language or gestures, with any official, coach, player, or parent at any time.
• I and my guests will praise my child for competing fairly and trying hard, making my child feel like a winner every time, regardless of the outcome of the game. I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participants for making a mistake.
• I and my guests will support coaches and officials working with my child and encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
• I and my guests will respect the officials and their authority during games and will never question, discuss, or confront an official or coach on the game field.
• I and my guests will strive to make the program fun for my child. I will insist that my child treat other players, coaches, and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed, or athletic ability.
• I and my guests will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and will refrain from their use at all DTC events.
• I and my guests will place my child’s emotional and physical well-being ahead of any personal desire I may have for my child to win.
• I agree to participate in all fundraising efforts of the Football/Cheer program, as I understand that these efforts help keep registration fees affordable and ensure that DTC remains viable for future programs.
• I and my guests will not engage in any behavior, including social media activity, that defames, disrespects, or brings a negative image to the DTC organization, its coaches, players, officials, or fellow parents. Negative or defamatory posts, comments, or actions that damage the reputation of DTC will be subject to disciplinary action.
• I agree to abide by the above Code of Conduct, and I understand that if I do not adhere to these guidelines, I will be subject to disciplinary action, including but not limited to:
• Verbal warning by an official, coach, or DTC Board Member
• Ejection from the field or park
• Parental game suspension
• Game forfeit
• Season suspension with no refund of fees
• Banishment from returning to the organization
