Competitive Youth Football

As a parent/guardian of a participant in the Douglasville Tiger Cubs (DTC) Football and Cheer Program, it is important to understand the following:

1. DTC is a Competitive Youth Football Organization – While our program is committed to mentoring, training, and developing young athletes, we also emphasize competition and strive for success on the field.

2. Playtime is Not Guaranteed – DTC does not have a mandatory playtime policy. Coaches will determine playing time based on skill level, effort, practice attendance, attitude, and overall team needs. Game participation is earned, not given.

3. Commitment to Excellence – DTC is focused on developing players to be disciplined, skilled, and competitive athletes. This means that performance, preparedness, and dedication to the team are key factors in determining participation during games.

4. Parental Support – Your athlete will need support by encouraging their growth, ensuring they attend practices and games, and reinforcing the values of hard work, sportsmanship, and respect for coaches, teammates, and officials.

5. Coaching Decisions – All coaching decisions, including game strategy and player rotations, are made in the best interest of the team as a whole. We must respect these decisions and refrain from questioning or confronting coaches about playtime during or directly after games.
